Soft & Serene Willow Hill Wedding for Sage & Josh

When my amazing bride (and now friend!) Sage first reached out about her wedding, I’ll admit—I was a little intimidated. Her dad is a member of Aerosmith, and while I’m not usually one to name-drop, the fact that an enlarged photo of the father of the bride’s nipple graces the cover of my favorite CD from my youth definitely gave me pause. I figured anyone who grew up with a five-decade rockstar for a dad had to be way too cool for me. But I couldn’t have been more wrong—Sage is one of the most down-to-earth brides I’ve ever worked with. She stayed focused on what truly mattered and never got caught up in any of the unnecessary drama that can often accompany planning a wedding.

Sage and Josh wanted a weekend destination wedding that would give both their families and friends the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and allow for the privacy needed to fully immerse themselves in the celebration.

We found the absolutely perfect venue in Willow Hill in Brooklyn, CT. This vast property with 100 beautiful acres, a gorgeous rennovated barn, countless “special moment” locations, and a historic guest house for the couple and their closest family and friends to spend the weekend. This new wedding venue truly has it all and we took advantage of every single element. The weekend flow included a welcome cookout Thursday night, a pool day on Friday followed by a rehearsal dinner in the barn. On Saturday the bride and groom exchanged private vows at the scenic overlook deck, had an enchanting ceremony in the Forest Garden, a stunning cocktail hour in the Grove, and a tented reception in the Meadow. The design was simple and serene. Beautiful bright colors reminded us that a fall wedding doesn’t have to be full of dark & moody hues. I loved every detail of this wedding and hope that I get the opportunity to work at this picture perfect venue again. Can’t help but hum “Amazing” while scrolling these pics….All my love to Sage & Josh!
