Fifty on the Farm!
I love planning weddings. There is so much to celebrate- so much love in one room. But there are also a LOT of formalities, which is why it is fun sometimes to break out a bit and have some fun with other milestone celebrations. I had the amazing opportunity to team up with Jen Hawkins Events to create a fabulous fiftieth birthday celebration in Vermont this past October and it was MAGICAL. Our lovely client had recently renovated a collection of barns on an old 1800’s dairy farm they had recently purchased. The farm setting during peak Fall foliage season was enough on it’s own to make this country girl’s heart go pitter-pat, but we didn’t stop there. Guests were invited to spend the day before the party hiking, biking and enjoying the outdoors. There was a cantina-style luncheon for them to grab & go out of a refurbished vintage Dodge Defender, prepared by the incredible Yann Nury. For the nighttime celebration, we had so much fun turning each barn into a different experience- the car barn became cocktail hour with a local bluegrass band. The event barn was the perfect place for a family style meal with piano bar music and heartfelt toasts. We then went into the 3rd barn for a fabulous rock concert with GUSTER followed by a killer DJ dance party, topped off with late night snacks served from an Airstream. It was yet another dream team of vendors and there is nothing not to love. I hope my husband is taking very detailed notes for my next birthday….
